October 6, 2006 – Dr. Karen Jacobsen, Tufts University
Karen Jacobsen, Ph.D. was the Center’s luncheon series inaugural speaker. She is an Associate Professor Tufts University Feinstein International Center, and Research Director for the school’s Refugees and Forced Migration Program.  She is also a Visiting Associate Professor at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and a member of the Inter-University Committee on International Migration. Her research interests include refugee and migration issues, humanitarian assistance, and livelihoods in complex emergencies. Professor Jacobsen published The Economic Life of Refugees in 2005 and her new book, Refugee Camps: A Problem of our Time, is forthcoming.
