HDS: The Case of Islam and Christianity

A panel discussion entitled, “Re­thinking the Relationship Between Religion and State: The Case of Islam and Christianity,” with Dominique Bauer, PhD, University of Louvain; Em­ran Qureshi, Wertheim Fellow at the Labor & Worklife Program, Harvard Law School; and Nader Hashemi, Visiting Assistant Professor at UCLA. This panel discussion will be moderated by David Little, Professor of the Practice in Religion, Ethnicity, and International Conflict, Harvard Divin­ity School, and Faculty Associate at the Weatherhead Center for Interna­tional Affairs.

In Good Faith

The premiere screening of In Good Faith , a new documentary . The event is sponsored by the Theology and Fine Arts departments at Boston College. In Good Faith  documents the resolution of the  controversy  around the recent construction by the Islamic Society of Boston of New England’s largest mosque in Roxbury and the significant dialogue  that involved members of the local Muslim, Jewish and Christian communities.   The film features interviews with Dr. David Gordis (President of Hebrew College), Imam Basyouny Nehala (Islamic Society of Boston), Rabbi Moshe Waldoks (Temple Beth Zion), Prof. Dennis Hale (BC Political Science)   and Father David Michael (Boston Archdiocese) among others.
