• Yahoo mail and Hotmail Delays
  Information Technology Services is aware of long delays in the delivery of email to Yahoo and Hotmail addresses.
  
  This problem results from BC users who have email forwarding turned on, but are not using the Spam Filter. This causes large amounts of spam to be automatically forwarded from @bc.edu accounts to Yahoo and Hotmail accounts. Yahoo and Hotmail then view BC as a spammer, and temporarily block BC email, causing messages from BC to be delayed or not delivered.
  
  This problem is exacerbated by the large number of alumni forwarding accounts that are not filtered for spam. A number of other universities that offer email forwarding services are experiencing similar problems.
  
  ITS apologizes for any frustration these delays may cause and is actively working to resolve this problem.
  
  When you experience delivery delays in sending to Hotmail, Yahoo, or other email addresses, please report them to: 617-552-HELP or submit through the Help Form.
