I.

There are only small deliberations of the navel.
Mouths are intentional,
making fresh edges with solid teeth,
licking the fuzz of the rupture.


II.

He collects things that sound like Rachmaninov:
certain keys, philosophers, my giddy
way of blushing, the word
'irrevocable,' how it feels.


III.

As it is with something abstract and esteemed,
like the same face of all Picasso's mistresses,
I wonder if our split desires
are not lechery, but progress.


IV.

Being leaf-like, after the fall of it
I am golden, aromatic.
I also turn to dust with clenching;
I do not grow back simply.


V.

I love it when the door opens and the room opens and his arms
(open a little) and there are so many possibilities.
