Prospective PlayersDear Prospective Rugby Recruit: The Boston College Rugby Football Club, founded in 1968, has an impressive 37 year history on the pitch, in the classroom and after graduation. With numbers on the rise, competition for A-side spots is at an all-time high. The Boston College Men's Rugby Club has one thing on its mind in the coming fall season, making the National Playoffs and competing in the Sweet 16 Tournament in the spring. Through hard work on the field, in the training room, and with the Boston College administration, BC Rugby has made the long term strides and commitment to becoming a playoff contender for many years to come. As a prospective recruit, you also face fierce competition in the classroom. Boston College is ranked among the top 40 academically prestigious universities in the nation and receives 26,000 applications annually to fill its 2,300 first-year spots. The hard work expected of our Ruggers does not end upon gaining admission. Last year, three members of the Club were inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, 20 members were on the Dean's List and several have written Fulbrights. In addition to their many academic accomplishments, the Team fulfills regular service commitments to the Special Olympics, The American Red Cross and Nativity Prep, a tuition-free Jesuit middle school for inner city minority students. Unfortunately, Boston College does not accept everyone who applies. However, BC Rugby welcomes all new Boston College students as players who are willing to meet the demanding standards of the University and the Club. If you have any questions about the Club, please contact us. The Club Officers are listed here.
