BCRFC Alumni Game

Chestnut Hill, April 29 -- Family. Brotherhood. Two words often used to describe the tight-knit community of the Boston College Rugby Football Club. On Saturday, April 29th, these two qualities were in full force as BCRFC gathered for its annual Alumni Game.

Played in BC's Alumni Stadium, the Rugby Alumni Game drew more than thirty former players and club members back to "The Heights" to share in the fun and camaraderie that has defined Boston College Rugby for so long.

While rain and cloudy skies put a damper on last year's festivities, luck was on the side of the BC Ruggers in 2006, as the skies cleared for what was truly a beautiful spring day. As the radiant sun shone down on the rugby pitch, the current members of BC Rugby faced off against the "Old Men" of BCRFC for what turned out to be quite the contest.

While the current members of BC Rugby were able to outrun the Alums in the first half, the skill and experience that comes with years of playing the game eventually led to the Alumni pulling away for yet another victory.

Immediately following the match was a cookout, that allowed members of the club- both past and present- to talk and share the stories that made their BC Rugby experiences such a special one.
