Parents Weekend It was a thrilling weekend as the parents of BCRFC members joined the team at The Heights for Parents Weekend. The club looked to impress with family and friends following the team to the Irish Cultural Center in Canton to face number 5th ranked Army. Duncan Gills ’09 described what it meant to have all of the team’s parents there. “You’re always excited to go out and play, especially in a game as big as this. But I think all the guys were even more pumped up than usual because they got to play in front of their parents.” “Seeing all the people on the sidelines reminds us that the BCRFC family is more than the players on the field but extends to the community that supports us,” said Mike Hunnewell ’08. Following the match all the members of the team sat down with their parents for dinner at the ICC. President, Karl Danso ’08, took the opportunity to welcome the new parents to the club and thank those parents who’ve been involved for their continued support. The club stressed how crucial a role the parents are in the success of running the club. From team donations to providing food and drinks for the players, the club would not be able to run as smoothly without the parent’s efforts. The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the first annual “The Outstanding Parent of the Year Award,” which was presented to John Albanese. For more CLICK HERE. Although the final score of the match was not what the team had hoped for, it proved to be an extremely successful evening. If you’re a parent interested in helping out the club in any way or would just like to be added to the parent listserv please email Michael Nash at Nashmc@bc.edu.
