John Albanese Receives Outstanding Parent of the Year Award

The Boston College Rugby Football Club is truly blessed to have so many devoted parents. They travel hours each weekend to watch us play and to show their support for the team. The club can never thank the parents enough.
To show our appreciation, each year BCRFC will announce the recipient of the Outstanding Parent of the Year award. This year on Parents Weekend the award was presented to John Albanese for his unparallel dedication and passion to the club and all its members. The 40th anniversary class of BCRFC stood before the rest of the club and parents to present Mr. Albanese with a framed BC Rugby jersey signed by the entire senior class.
Teddy Smith ’08 spoke about what Mr. Albanese means to the club and how his tremendous impact on us all made him our selection for the Outstanding Parent of the Year. “Over the past four years, he has shown extraordinary generosity to the club through donations, in the form of both money and merchandise. He has given some of the most uplifting pregame speeches that any of us has ever heard, and he has flown cross country on several occasions in order to support the club wherever and whenever he can. He has been an inspiration and a help to all members of the club, and we greatly appreciate everything he has done for us.”
