After a few years, when BC Rugby has enjoyed the enormous success that it is destined to embrace, this Fall 2003 season will be looked back on as the season where it all started. This is the season where the officers, under the tutelage of new faculty advisor, Fr. Fleming, started a dedicated drive to turn BC Rugby into a respectable institution.
The season had a slow and frustrating start, with losing to a skillful Dartmouth side, against whom BC Rugby showed flashes of brilliance, but not consistent enough to win the game. This loss would be indicative of our fate in the next three games. We turned a corner against Brown and dominated the game. Unfortunately, the game ultimately ended in a loss.
The official turnaround came with a home match against Amherst that was started by bagpipes. After a season of hard, grueling work, BC ruggers were finally going to get their reward. BC Rugby said goodbye to the Fall 2003 season with two convincing wins over Amherst and BU.
