| A "naked
singularity," as we all know, is an
infinitely dense point mass around which no black
hole can develop. Serveral centuries ago, the
buzz around the (Dead White Male) world was
"Nature abhors a vacuum." Now it might
aptly be said "Nature abhors a naked
singularity." (Stephen Hawking said it, and
he had a guest spot on Star Trek The Next
Generation, so, infact, it might be more than
aptly said.) It is the hope of Naked Singularity
to invoke some of that abhorrence, and to push
the bounds of acceptance understanding and
commensurability forward a few light years. Oh
to boldly go...

Naked Singularity is
an officially recognized organization of Boston College, and
as such, receives minimal funding from the
university itself. However, it is the case that
this funding invariably fails to meet our
financial requirements. Consequently, we are
forced to seek alternatives. If you would like
to make a financial contribution to this young
and fast growing publication, we at Naked
Singularity would be truly Grateful.
