| Welcome to Boston College
Hillel! |
Boston College began in 1863 as a small Jesuit college for young men.
It is now an internationally renowned University with a culturally-, religiously-, and
ethnically-diverse coeducational student body consisting of about 9,000 undergraduates and
5,000 graduate students. The BC faculty is similarly diverse, with committed individuals
from each Boston College Department and from the surrounding Jewish communities in
Chestnut Hill, Newton, and Brookline.
The Hillel of Boston College helps to serve the social, cultural and
religious needs of the small but active cadre of Jewish students who attend BC as well as
inform the rest of BC what it means to be Jewish. BC connects to the greater Boston Jewish
Communities greatly in part to Hillel Council of New England. BC Hillel is part of
the Regional Student Board of Hillel Council of New England that brings together students
from all over New England, with BC students participating in local, national, and
international trips and conferences.
