***All classes will start at an intermediate level, but if you are a beginner come anyway! Our teachers will tailor the classes for all the levels of dancers that attend. All classes are free and open on a drop-in basis.
Meet Your Teachers!
| COURTNEY KIPP is a senior in the College of Arts and Sciences. She is a French and Theology double major and plans to go onto a Master's Degree program in Theological Studies after she graduates. She is originally from North Attleboro, MA and has been dancing for 19 years. Courtney danced for 14 years at Starline School of Dance in Plainville, MA under the direction of Denise Kiley and Susan Tremblay. She has studied tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, pointe and hiphop, but tap has always been and will always be her favorite style. She helped start Starline's competition team in 2002 and competed on the regional level for 3 years, medaling in small group jazz and tap trios. She attended the Dance Olympus Summer Dance Convention for 7 years and in 2005 she completed the Dance Education Training Course, a 3-year course run by the Dance Teachers' Club of Boston. When she's not dancing, Courtney can be found giving campus tours (listen for her loud Boston accent!), tutoring at the LRSA, and spending quality time with her friends and beloved theology books. Courtney is very excited to teach tap this semester and hopes everyone will come to her class! |
| KATE BLANCHARD is a junior in the Lynch School of Education, double majoring in Elementary Education and Human Development, with a minor in Special Education. Originally from Framingham, Massachusetts, she has been dancing since the age of 4. She has trained in ballet, pointe, jazz, modern, and lyrical at the Walnut Hill School in Natick, Massachusetts. She was also a member of the Weston High School Hip-Hop team during high school. As a senior in high school she traveled and competed at UDA Nationals at Disney World with her team. This is Kate's second year with DOBC, however she will be traveling to Ireland in the Spring so will not be able to perform in the show. She is looking forward to teaching ballet classes this Fall! |
