Director: Julie McDermott

Julie McDermott is a senior in the Connell School of Nursing. She started dancing at age 3 in her hometown of Watertown, MA where she learned all forms of dance. She later studied at the Boston Ballet for 10 years concentrating more seriously on ballet and pointe. She performed numerous roles with Boston Ballet in their annual production of "The Nutcracker." In high school at Newton Country Day, Julie began choreographing and performing with the Dance Company. She was also the founder and captain of her high school's first competitive Dance Team. Additionally, Julie danced with the Liturgical Dance Group and performed with them in cathedrals throughout Italy. She recently spent two summers in New York City participating in American Ballet Theater's Collegiate Summer Intensive Program. Dancing is Julie's passion and pride and joy; she cannot imagine her life without it. Julie loves DOBC and is looking forward to having the priviledge of being the Director during her senior year.

Assistant Director: Maggie Dipasquale

Maggie Dipasquale is a junior English major in the school of Arts and Sciences. She is from Franklin Lakes, New Jersey and attended high school at Oak Knoll School where she was Vice President of their Dance Company during her senior year. Previously, she danced competitively as a member of the Rising Star Dance Company at Dance Arts Academy where she trained in ballet, jazz, and lyrical. She has also studied at the School of New Jersey Ballet under the direction of Carolyn Clark. Maggie is a member of the Boston College Dance Team and enjoys studying at Broadway Dance Center in New York City. She is extremely excited and grateful to serve as the Assistant Director to DOBC.

Secretary: Jen Patten

Jen is a senior in A&S double majoring in English and Music on her beloved cello. She is from Somerset, MA and has been dancing since age five with various studios competing in tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, musical theater, lyrical, and modern/contemporary while gaining additional exposure to acrobatics and hip hop through master classes. In her senior year of high school she joined her school's then newly formed hip-hop dance team where she had the opportunity to collaborate with neighboring high schools. Throughout high school and into college she has been thrilled to add teaching and choreographing to her passion for dance. At BC she is also a member of the BC Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Music Society, Boston Collegium, and Irish Fiddlers. She is eagerly looking forward to another amazing and final year dancing with DOBC!

Treasurer: Sarah Noon

Sarah Noon is presently a junior in the College of Arts and Sciences majoring in Biology. She is originally from Royersford, Pennsylvania and graduated from Villa Maria Academy High School where she served as President of the Dance Troupe during her senior year. Sarah has been dancing since the age of three receiving training in ballet, pointe, jazz, and tap while mainly focusing on ballet and pointe under the direction of Sharon Atkinson with the Valley Forge Dance Theatre. She has performed in their annual productions of The Nutcracker in both Pennsylvania and New York dancing various roles including Clara and the Snow Queen. Sarah has also performed in The Sleeping Beauty Ballet as Aurora. She is so excited to continue her passion and love for dance with the Dance Organization of Boston College and is very grateful to be a member of the executive board.

Costume Manager: Arielle Cimeno

Arielle is a senior Biochemistry major in A&S. She is from Wilmington, MA and began her dance training at the Lorraine Spada School of Dance where she studied ballet, pointe, modern, jazz, and tap. While there she amassed lots of teaching experience as both a substitute and assistant dance teacher. Arielle recently completed the Dance Educators’ Training Program conducted by the Dance Teachers’ Club of Boston and received the Lila Frances Viles Award for the highest performance and written scores throughout all three years of the program. She is in the process of becoming a certified member of DTCB. Arielle has also studied at Jose Mateo’s Ballet Theatre (formerly Ballet Theatre of Boston) and performed in their annual Nutcracker productions, as well as performing with Northeast Youth Ballet. She is extremely excited to continue dancing with DOBC and looks forward to a wonderful year working with the lovely ladies of the DOBC board.

Costume Manager: Molly Costello

Molly Costello is a senior from Lexington, MA and is a Human Resources major in the Carroll School of Management. She began dancing at the age of three and spent ten years studying basics at the J.W. Hayden Recreation Center. From there, she became a member of the Starette Dance Company while continuing her dance education at DanceTime in Bedford, MA. She also taught classes for several years with the studio, while attending local dance workshops. She has competed in the categories of jazz, lyrical, and modern. Molly is excited to combine her love of dance with her love of all things shiny as a costume manager, and looks forward to another year with DOBC.

Events and Publicity: Marieke Mauro

Marieke is a senior in the Carroll School of Management concentrating in Marketing and Human Resources. At the age of three, she began studying ballet at the Hilton Head Dance School under the supervision of Karena Brock-Carlyle, a former Principal Dancer of the American Ballet Theatre, and John Carlyle. While studying at HHDS, Marieke was paired with some of Savannah Ballet's lead dancers in numerous holiday Nutcracker performances and spring recitals, including Sleeping Beauty and Snow White. After moving to Raleigh, North Carolina, she continued her studies at the Raleigh School of Ballet before switching to Broadway Dance Studio where she received additional exposure to jazz, modern, hip-hop and tap. Marieke participated in several dance competitions in the Southeast but found that ballet was her true passion and transferred to City Ballet. Having been a member of DOBC for the past three years, Marieke cannot imagine a better way to cap off her dance experience at Boston College than by being on its board and is grateful for the opportunity DOBC has given her to grow as a dancer.

Technical Manager: Nicole Borruso

Nicole is a sophomore mathematics major and international studies minor. She is from Newtown, CT. Nicole started dancing when she was three years old. She was introduced to all styles of dance at a young age but now focuses mainly on hip-hop. She performed with her middle school dance team and then continued to take jazz and hip-hop classes until college. Nicole became a member of DOBC and was a part of the 2008 Dance Marathon as a freshman. She is also on the Student Life department of UGBC. Nicole is excited for another fabulous year with DOBC!
