General Conclusions on the Law School Personal Statement:
- The personal statement is where you show the law school admissions council that you can communicate.
- Use this opportunity to create an image of yourself. Ask yourself what image you would like to portray.
- Make it exciting and make it interesting.
- Remember that this is an opportunity, not a test.
- Try to show that you are self-correcting, self-aware, and self-directed.
- Complete the personal statement with enough time to review it.
- Be positive
- Be proactive
- Describe your accomplishments
- Explain your perspective on the things you have learned
- Elucidate what motivates you
- Show that you are active, engaged, and like to learn from your experiences
