General Conclusions on Faculty Letters of Recommendation:
- Faculty recommendations should be well-written, clear, present, and persuasive.
- Ask your recommending faculty member to display clear points of advocacy.
- Show them your past work to help them jog their memory.
- Give them a copy of your resume.
- Give them your personal statement.
- You may want to submit three letters of recommendation to law school: two from school faculty, and one from a place where you have worked.
- If you are submitting a letter from someone you have worked with, be sure it is someone you have worked CLOSELY with, not just a name and a signature.
- Begin to think of faculty you could ask during your sophomore and junior years!! Do not wait until the last minute!
- You should ask your faculty of choice to write a letter the first semester of senior year.
