Our Mission Statement:

To celebrate the Armenian heritage and culture of BC students, as well as promote activism in petitioning for the U.S. government to officially recognize the Armenian Genocide as a crime against humanity. In addition, we strive to educate others about genocide, linking the Armenian genocide to the Jewish Holcaust and the crisis in Darfur, for the promotion of a better understanding of this atrocity in order to prevent further genocide in the future. All in all, our club wants to become extremely active with a new and enthusiastic administration for next year, and we want to celebrate our culture and heritage by getting together BC Armenians, having cultural dinners and outings together; however, we also want to open ourselves up to the BC community and offer them events to enjoy, as well as something to learn from and understand our background as well as the atrocity of genocide.

Our Goals for this upcoming year (07-08):

We are currently reviving the BC Armenian Club and have plans to hold regular events and get lots of people involved next year. We want to have at least one speaker event both semesters for Armenian Genocide awareness and to get the Armenian Genocide recognized by the U.S. Government through petitions. We will link it with other genocides, bringing together all victims of genocide to help stop the crime against humanity. In addition, we want to hold regular events to bring Armenian members of BC together to celebrate our heritage and form our cultural community. We will make Armenian food twice a month next year, get involved and have events with other college Armenian clubs in Boston, and attend local Armenian speaker and special events in the greater Boston community. In addition, we will take a trip to the Watertown Armenian archives and to local Armenian restaurants, as well as have an outreach event/program to help those still living in Armenia, since it is a third world country and needs help. In an effort to unite the BC Armenians, we also want to design t-shirts for our club, and try to go on a service trip in Armenia to help out (and/or send them goods). Our club will also try to put together a commemorative event for Armenian Martyr's Day next Spring (April 24th), as we are doing this year.
