Est. in 1982, Earthen Vessels is a non-profit organization that recruits , trains, develops and mobilizes a highly motivated student volunteer corps. With the help of their tutors, 93% of EV Kids have gone to college, compared to only 60% of their peers in the Boston Public School system.
4Boston's Role
As a student volunteer, you'll be matched one-on-one with an EV Kid (grade 3-12) to provide multi-year, afterschool academic mentoring one afternoon per week at our site in Dorchester. EV also supports your EV Kid with family and school advocacy, building a strong community of support. You will be provided with training & development, on-site support, and regular opportunities to reflect with your peers on your service experience through the lens of community, faith, and social justice.
