Reminder: Residents must checkout of their rooms within 24 hours after their last final, or by 5pm on May 9th, whichever comes first. Seniors must checkout of their rooms by 8pm on Monday, May 20th.

3 CONVENIENT CHECKOUT OPTIONS FOR FRESHMEN, SOPHOMORES & JUNIORS

All residents must complete one of the three checkout processes in order to avoid an improper checkout fine.

Option 1: Checkout by Appointment.

What: You can make an appointment with your RA to checkout.
When: F
rom Monday, May 5th, thru Wednesday, May 7th.
How: RA's will be posting available appointment times on their doors starting May 1st. In order to checkout with your RA, your belongings must be completely out of the room, your room must be clean, and you must be ready to leave. Please keep this in mind when signing up for an appointment time.

Option 2: Central Location Checkout

What: Checkout with an RA by reporting to a designated central location.
When: On Thursday, May 8th, from 9am to 9pm and Friday, May 9th, from 9am to 5pm.
How: You report to a designated location in your building/on your campus when your belongings are completely out of your room, your room is clean, and you are ready to leave. At this time, an RA will accompany you to your room and complete the checkout process.
**PLEASE NOTE: On Thursday, May 8th, there will be no checkout after 11pm.

Option 3: Express Checkout

What: Residents will be able to complete an Express Checkout Form.
When: Express Checkout Forms will be available through your RA or Hall Director beginning Friday, May 2nd. You can also download a copy of the Express Checkout Form by clicking here.
How: The Express Check-out form allows you to not be present when the RA inspects your room. This form must be returned to your RA before you leave campus.
Please keep in mind that the Express Check-out form waives your right to appeal any charges resulting from damage found in your room when the RA inspects it. **A fine of $200.00 will be charged to any residents leaving behind excessive trash.

**Please Note: If you do not checkout with a staff member or fill out an Express Checkout Form, you will be assessed a $75 failure to checkout fine. Any student who does not depart from the residence halls by 5pm on Friday, May 9th, without a valid extension will be assessed a $200.00 late checkout fine.

CHECKOUT PROCEDURE FOR GRADUATING SENIORS

Seniors must checkout of their rooms by 8pm on Monday, May 19th.


What: Residents will use a Senior Checkout Form.
When:
When you return from Commencement, you will find a Senior Checkout Form on your door.
How:
Each resident must sign this form. Note any and all damage done to the room, who is responsible for the damage, and sign your name. If one person is accepting responsibility for certain damage, this must be noted on the form. If any damage is not claimed, then all residents will be charged for repairs. **A fine of $150.00 will be charged to any residents leaving behind excessive trash.
Finally, failure to complete a Senior Checkout Form will result in loss of your right to appeal any damage charges that are billed to your student account.
YOU MUST drop off the Senior Checkout Form with your key at the Key Collection table at the Robsham Bus Stop on your way out.

**Please Note: If you do not complete a Senior Checkout Form, you will be assessed a $75 failure to checkout fine. Any student who does not depart from the residence halls by 8pm on Monday, May 19th, without a valid extension will be assessed a $200.00 late checkout fine.

STUDENTS WITH EXTENSIONS

Residents who have been granted extensions to remain in their rooms past the closing dates must do one of two things:

1)Turn in a signed Express Checkout form to your RA. (See above information on the Express Checkout process).

2)Report to the designated location in your building/on your campus(see above for these locations) when your belongings are completely out of your room, your room is clean, and you are ready to leave. The Checkout Locations Centers will be open on Saturday, May 10th, from 9am to noon. At this time, an RA will accompany you to your room and complete the checkout process.

Residents who have been granted an extension for Senior Week must complete the following:

1) Complete one of the three checkout processes by Friday, May 9th at 5pm, regardless of whether you are staying in your room for the week or are moving to Interim housing. Please Note: In order to complete on of the checkout processes, all posters and wall hangings must be taken down prior to the RA's inspection on Friday, May 9th.

2) If you have been approved to remain in your room for the week, then you will have an additional damage section added to your extension request form. Please see your Hall Director for more information.

**Please Note: If you do not checkout with a staff member or fill out an Express Checkout Form, you will be assessed a $75 failure to checkout fine. Any student who does not depart from the residence halls by the date noted on their extension slip will be assessed a $200.00 late checkout fine.
