Lynch Dedication Is Nov. 2

Boston College will formally dedicate the Carolyn A. and Peter S. Lynch School of Education on Thursday, Nov. 2, with a symposium titled "Educational Excellence and Equity through Partnerships" and a keynote address by US Sen. Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.).

Boston Superintendent of Schools Thomas Payzant will moderate the symposium, an invitation-only affair for LSOE alumni and friends.

Last year, the Lynches donated more than $10 million to the University, at the time the largest individual contributions in Boston College history. Peter Lynch, a 1965 alumnus and University trustee, is vice chairman of Fidelity Management and Research Co. Carolyn Lynch, a graduate and trustee of the University of Pennsylvania, is president of the Lynch Foundation, which funds innovative programs in education, health care, religion, and science.
