Shepard gave up his career as a professor of management five years ago to start the on-line customized textbook venture, which integrates chapters and information from various sources into a single narrowly focused course pack. Shepard's firm, which has doubled in size in each of the past two years, is expected to triple its business this year, according to company information.
The lecture series was established this year by the Graduate Finance Association to bring successful finance professionals to campus and discuss their career development as well as offer strategies to students pursuing similar goals.
The series began on Oct. 11 with CSOM Dean Helen Frame Peters and will feature a guest speaker every month through the remainder of the academic year.
