University to close early Nov. 22
All Boston College administrative offices will close at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 22, the day before Thanksgiving. The University will resume normal hours on Monday, Nov. 27.
Policies, Procedures Manual updated
University Policies and Procedures Director Ivy Dodge has announced the release of a new policy, 1-600-150 Information Technology - Review of Sponsored Projects and Gifts from Private Sources, which is available in electronic format through the online edition of the Policies and Procedures Manual, located at http://www.bc.edu/bc_org/polpr/bcppm.html
Dodge also announced that updated versions of the manual's table of contents and index are now available.
BACAP hosts lecture, seminar Nov. 30
Cornell University Professor of Philosophy Jennifer Whiting will be the featured speaker at the Nov. 30 Boston Area Colloquium in Ancient Philosophy, which will be held in Gasson 305 at 7:30 p.m.
Whiting will speak on "Strong Dialectic, Neurathian Reflection and the Ascent of Desire," and Clark University Professor of Philosophy Michael Pakaluk will offer a commentary.
At 3 p.m. that same day, Whiting will give a seminar on "Locomotive Soul and Hylomorphic Virtue" in the McElroy Conference Room.
Both events are open to the public.
Service program seeks faculty, staff
The Undergraduate Government of Boston College Learning to Serve Program, which combines community service, reflection and discussion activities over a 14-week period during the spring semester, invites University administrators, faculty and staff to participate.
Learning to Serve includes 50 freshmen and 10 upperclassmen mentors. Volunteers would accompany the students on one service day and attend the follow-up session.
