Houston Award Ceremony April 3

A Boston College undergraduate will be given the opportunity for a travel-and-study enrichment project when the 2001 Amanda V. Houston Fellowship Award is presented on Tuesday, April 3, at 4 p.m. in Gasson 100.

University President William P. Leahy, SJ, will announce the recipient of this year's award, named after BC's first Black Studies Program director. Houston Fellows use the $3,000 grant toward a research project that involves travel abroad or in the United States.

Last year's winner, Rhoda Nafziger, '01, will be at the event to discuss her efforts to create a community-based HIV/AIDS curriculum in Nigeria.
