High Marks for LSOE Program

The American Psychological Association has given the Lynch School of Education doctoral program in counseling psychology a seven-year accreditation, the longest period of time a program may go without having to renew.

In its report, the APA praised the program's emphasis on multiculturalism and social justice in its training philosophy, and its efforts in "recruiting diverse and highly qualified core faculty [and] assembling a cohort of students that is equally diverse and well qualified."

LSOE Dean Mary Brabeck said the accreditation was a "tremendous tribute to a talented and committed faculty," while program director Assoc. Prof. David Blustein (LSOE) called it "the greatest mark of achievement the APA can give to a program."
