Irish Institute Hosts Forum

American and Northern Irish industry representatives discussed the emergence of Northern Ireland as a major player in "e-business" at a Nov. 16 panel discussion hosted by the Irish Institute in the Shea Room of Conte Forum.

Co-sponsored by MassPort, "Doing E-business In Northern Ireland" also featured remarks by James Lyons, special advisor to President Clinton for economic initiatives in Ireland, and Sir Reg Empey, minister of enterprise, trade and investment for Northern Ireland.

Speakers at the event discussed Northern Ireland's suitability as a cost-effective and convenient gateway to the European market, as well as its compatibility with the New England high tech industry.
