The award recognizes outstanding men and women of Italian birth or descent who have made contributions to American society. Campanella was one of 12 recipients this year, including Tufts University Athletic Director Rocco Carzo, entrepreneur and philanthropist Christopher Gabrieli, a partner at Bessemer Venture Partners, and Carol Anastasia Warfield, MD, an international authority on pain management.
Campanella and his fellow awardees were honored at an April 7 banquet, proceeds of which will be used to provide scholarships for area high school seniors planning to pursue Italian studies in college.
