Forum, Awards Highlight Faculty Day

An open forum with University President William P. Leahy, SJ, and the presentation of faculty awards will highlight the annual Faculty Day event, which begins at noon on May 3 in the Heights Room of the Lower Campus Dining Hall.

This year's Faculty Day also includes a luncheon for all attendees, a new feature organizers hope will give faculty members the chance to meet colleagues from other disciplines.

Academic Vice President and Dean of Faculties John Neuhauser will offer remarks after lunch, and Fr. Leahy will make his presentation. An open question-and-answer session will follow.

In addition, teaching, research and service awards for the 2000-2001 academic year will be announced at the event. Award nominees as well as winners will be recognized during the ceremony.

"Faculty Day is a traditional event that offers an end-of-the-year summary and gives faculty members a nice chance to get together," said Neuhauser, whose office sponsors the event.
