The ranking was based on a study from 1986-98 of the research and publication productivity of graduate business school faculty. The study, which examined numbers of faculty contributions to top tier business research journals, was conducted by faculty from leading business schools.
Other New England business schools in the top 100 ranking in finance included Harvard (No. 4), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (14), Dartmouth College (49) and Yale University (50).
