Since 1997, Goggins has been manager of principal gifts in the Development Office. She served on the Alumni Association staff from 1991-97 as assistant director for Newton College alumnae and assistant director of classes.
"We thank Kathleen for her contributions to Boston College and wish her well in her new endeavor," said DeLong.
"We are delighted to have the able assistance of Joanne Goggins," she added . "Joanne's previous tenure with the Alumni Association fully qualifies her to take on this important leadership position during the interim period. I am grateful for her willingness to take on this considerable responsibility."
DeLong said a search committee will be established to identify a new executive director.
