The annual event, sponsored by the offices of the President, Academic Vice President and Dean of Faculties, Vice President of Human Resources and Affirmative Action, is an opportunity for new employees of color to meet with University administrators, as well as other AHANA employees.
The Office of the Academic Vice President will sponsor the first university-wide "Celebration of Scholarship" on Thursday, Nov. 18, from 4-6 p.m. in Gasson 100.
Originally a reception honoring works by College of Arts and Sciences faculty, the expanded event honors research and scholarship throughout Boston College. It will feature an exhibition of publications and projects done by faculty and other members of the University community.
The Boston Area Colloquium in Ancient Philosophy will host a visit to Boston College on Thursday, Nov. 18 by Francisco Lisi, a professor in the Classics Department of the University of Salamanca.
Lisi will lead a seminar on "Nomos In Other Aristotelian Treatises" at 3 p.m. in Devlin 112, and give a lecture titled "The Concept of Law in Aristotle's Politics" at 7:30 p.m. in Gasson 305, with a commentary by Seton Hall University Professor of Politics Robert Mayhew.
