Smyer Earns Fulbright Fellowship

Graduate School of Arts and Sciences Dean and Associate Vice President For Research Michael A. Smyer has won a Fulbright Fellowship that will send him to Japan for three weeks this summer to examine higher education in that country.

Smyer was one of five American university administrators chosen to travel to Japan to learn about Japanese colleges and culture. His itinerary will include stays in Tokyo, Kyoto and Hiroshima. In Tokyo, he will visit Sophia University, the Jesuit university in the Japanese capital, to discuss collaborations with Boston College.
