Gaelic Roots 2000

The annual Gaelic Roots Music, Song and Dance Summer School and Festival enjoyed another successful year, bringing aficionados of Irish, Scottish and Cape Breton traditional music to campus by the hundreds during the week of June 18-24. At right, Irish step-dancing instructor Donny Golden demonstrates a figure to his attentive pupils. Below right, Padraigin Caesar - who studied at BC last year as an Irish Studies Fulbright Scholar-leads a workshop on the Irish harp. Below left, a Gasson Hall classroom is wall to wall with fiddles, as Martin Hayes (standing) shares his technique.
