College Bound is a four-year educational enrichment program for students from West Roxbury and Brighton high schools, who visit the BC campus on weekends for academic tutoring and counseling.
This year, eight seniors from West Roxbury High and two from Brighton High completed the program, bringing to more than 100 the number of Boston students who have completed the program and gone on to higher education since Prof. George Ladd (LSOE) launched College Bound in 1988.
"If past experiences are any indication," Ladd said, "each senior has gained the skills to have a quality higher-education experience, while maintaining his or her single-mindedness to succeed and serve as a model for those in their families and communities who risk reaching for the future."
