Students Return to Medeiros

Students Return to Medeiros

Eighteen freshmen displaced by a March 24 fire in the Medeiros Townhouses returned to their rooms last weekend. Seven students temporarily hospitalized for smoke inhalation in the blaze are back in class, according to the University, while the two Boston College Police officers who were slightly injured while attempting to rescue students have returned to duty.

In a related development, administrators are reassessing the security screens on the windows of BC's 28 residence halls. Plans awaiting approval from local and state fire officials call for the screens to be retrofitted with special sliders to ensure quick access in the event of an emergency.
