The Department of Human Resources and the Boston College Jesuit Community will again sponsor "Shared Vision," a program to help faculty, staff and students understand the University's Jesuit heritage. All sessions will take place in the St. Mary's Hall conference room, and the first will be held Wednesday, Oct. 14 from 9-11:30 a.m.
The series, which consists of three videos on the origins and history of the Society of Jesus, invites those attending to reflect on the Ignatian vision and how it may be expressed at Boston College.
Dates and times for the other fall sessions are: Thursday, Oct. 22, 1-3:30 p.m.; Tuesday, Nov. 3, 9-11:30 a.m.; Tuesday, Dec. 1, 1-3:30 p.m.; and Wednesday, Dec. 9, 9-11:30 a.m.
To sign up, use the on-line registration form via UIS. Choose "forms" transaction and then select the Human Resources list, followed by "Employee Dev Pgm Request." Or, registrants may call ext. 2-8532 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Office of Community Affairs is seeking BC employee volunteers for the Read Aloud Program, which sends the volunteers into K-5 classrooms to read to students. The time commitment is about one lunch hour per month.
One-hour training sessions for new and returning volunteers will be held on Oct. 15 and 16 at noon in McGuinn Third Floor Lounge. Those interested in participating in the program are asked to contact Carol DiFabio at email@example.com by Oct. 6 and indicate which training session they wish to attend, whether they are new to the program or returning, and provide their name, department, campus address, e-mail address and telephone extension.
