B.C. To Host Y.M.C.A. Black Achievers College Fair

As many as 3,000 African-American high school seniors from the Greater Boston area are expected to visit Boston College on Oct. 14 for the YMCA Black Achievers College Fair, to be held from 8 a.m. to noon at the Flynn Recreation Complex.

Admissions representatives from the nation's historically black colleges will be present at the fair, as will individuals from Boston College, ROTC and more than a dozen community agencies, providing information about college loan and scholarship programs.

This is the fourth consecutive year that BC has hosted the event.

"The fair is terrific from two different viewpoints," said Community Affairs Director Jean McKeigue. "It's great to have all the seniors on campus to look at Boston College and it's nice for the volunteers to see BC in action."

The event will be followed by a lunch in the Walsh Function Room for fair participants.
