Joyce said that club membership has peaked at 2,225, and future members will be placed on a waiting list with limited access to club services and facilities until vacancies develop. Persons on the waiting list pay a partial initiation and monthly membership fee, he said, and are entitled to make breakfast and lunch reservations and take part in selected membership-wide events.

"People are starting to realize the tremendous business potential of the club," Joyce said. "By starting a waiting list we will be able to gauge the needs of our membership and ensure that there is enough room for all to enjoy it."
Joyce said that the club's luncheon business in the Grille and Harbour rooms has been very successful since the venue opened last January. He also said that special events, such as wine-tasting parties and dinners featuring guest speakers, have been popular with club members. Wall Street investment strategist Charles Clough, '64, and US Sen. John Kerry, JD '76, were among dinner speakers at the club this past year.
The club also has started a Breakfast Speaker Series, and will feature University of Massachusetts President William M. Bulger, '58, JD '61, at its next meeting on Nov. 19, from 7:30 to 9 a.m.
Future events at the club also include a gala New Year's Eve celebration for members and their guests.
The Boston College Club is located on the 36th floor of the BankBoston Building at 100 Federal St. in Boston's financial district. Membership information may be obtained by calling 946-2828.
