Chiles said he was "extremely gratified" by the four-year appointment, which he said serves as recognition not only of his research, but of the excellence of the department.
"When a member of our department is appointed to the editorial board of a major peer-review journal, it recognizes the entire Biology Department at both the national and international levels," he said. "It tells the scientific community outside BC that we have top-notch faculty doing cutting-edge research."
