B&G's Tony Ghantous Dies

Antoun "Tony" Ghantous, an HVAC mechanic in the Buildings and Grounds Department for nearly 15 years, died of cancer at his home on Feb. 22. He was 61. A native of Amyoun, Lebanon, he came to the United States in 1952. He was a 1956 graduate of Boston English High School and was a US Army veteran. He was graduated from Wentworth Evening School as an HVAC specialist in 1975 and earned a degree in management from Boston College in 1995.

Ghantous was an avid gardener, fisherman and cook, and enjoyed a summer home in the Manomet section of Plymouth. He also was well-known for his enjoyment of walking, and greeted co-workers and students during his walks around the campus on his lunch hour each day. He frequently walked to and from campus from his home in Roslindale.

He is survived by his wife Mary Anne (Marad), a daughter, Samantha Nadii, and a son, Sami.
