Ghantous was an avid gardener, fisherman and cook, and enjoyed a summer home in the Manomet section of Plymouth. He also was well-known for his enjoyment of walking, and greeted co-workers and students during his walks around the campus on his lunch hour each day. He frequently walked to and from campus from his home in Roslindale.
He is survived by his wife Mary Anne (Marad), a daughter, Samantha Nadii, and a son, Sami.
