Reid Oslin To Join Public Affairs Staff

Associate Director for Sports Information Reid Oslin '68, will join the Office of Public Affairs as senior media relations officer at the conclusion of the football season.

Oslin has been in charge of the Eagles' athletic publicity department since 1974 and is one of the few non-athletes or coaches to be inducted into the Boston College Varsity Club Hall of Fame. In his new role, he will be responsible for helping to promote the University's academic achievements to the national media.

"We are most fortunate to have a person of Reid's media experience and familiarity with the University join the Public Affairs team at this time," said Public Affairs Director Douglas Whiting. "I am enthusiastic about the opportunity to work more closely with him as he pursues his next challenge."

"I am truly looking forward to working for Boston College at the University-wide level," Oslin said. "I have thoroughly enjoyed my association with our great athletic program and I am honored to have been chosen for this new position."

BC Athletic Director Gene DeFilippo added, "I have mixed emotions about Reid's decision to move into the public affairs area. Reid and I have known each other for several years and I have always admired him as a person and as a professional administrator. We will miss him in the athletic department at Boston College, but I am happy for both Reid and his family."
