Persons nominated should be selected from a variety of fields, such as the arts, scholarship, public service, business and religion. In the majority of cases, the nominees should possess some quality that makes it particularly appropriate that they be honored by Boston College. In all cases, they should have demonstrated a record of accomplishment consonant with the ideals the University entertains for itself and the future careers of its graduates.
Nominations should be accompanied by a description of the individual's qualifications and, where possible, other supporting documentation. The committee will screen nominations and forward a list of candidates to University President William P. Leahy, SJ. The honorary degree recipients will be chosen by Fr. Leahy and the Board of Trustees.
Nominations will be accepted through Wednesday, Nov. 5. They may be addressed to University Secretary Joseph Duffy, SJ, Hopkins House.
