BC finished ahead of Cornell University, University of Vermont, Dartmouth College and Harvard University in the regional rankings, and behind Wake Forest University and University of Michigan - which tied for ninth place - in the national rankings.
"Our national ranking is more impressive when you realize that we are competing against over 200 schools who participate in policy debate," said Director of Debate John Katsulas. "In the East, our first-place finish over Ivy League schools demonstrates that Boston College students are able to excel against the very brightest in the nation."
Furthermore, Katsulas added, "next year's squad should be very competitive, since we are returning all of our best debaters."
