Author Morris Will Lecture On Feb. 5

Acclaimed author Charles Morris will visit Boston College next week for a public lecture and a colloquium on the American Catholic Church.

On Thursday, Feb. 5, Morris will speak on "The Future of the Parish: Catholic Themes and Counter-Themes" at 7:30 p.m. in Fulton 511. The event is sponsored by the Theology Department and Boston College Magazine .

Morris is the author of the 1997 book American Catholic: The Saints and Sinners Who Built America's Most Powerful Church , which was a selection of the Book of the Month Club and the History Book Club, and chosen by Publisher's Weekly for its "Best Books of 1997" list.

Morris also has authored T he AARP: America's Most Powerful Lobby and the Coming Clash of Generations and The Coming Global Boom , and co-authored Computer Wars: The Fall of IBM and the Future of Global Technology .

As part of his visit, Morris also will take part in an invitation-only colloquium on American Catholic history for theology students on Wednesday, Feb. 4.
