C.S.O.M.'s Vincent O'Reilly Wins Major Professional Honor

Senior Lecturer Vincent M. O'Reilly (CSOM) has been named winner of the John J. McCloy Award, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the integrity of the auditing profession in the United States. The award is presented by the Public Oversight Board, which oversees the auditing of public companies.

O'Reilly joined the Carroll School of Management faculty this year after retiring as executive vice chairman of Coopers & Lybrand, an international accounting firm. He teaches accounting and operations courses and supervises the consulting project for first-year MBA students.

"Receiving the McCloy Award was a humbling, and the same time, exhilarating experience for me," O'Reilly said. "It was humbling in that the people who had been awarded the honor in previous years were the 'creme de la creme' of the auditing profession. It was exhilarating in that it recognized the contributions that my associates and I had been able to make to that profession."
