New Delta Team To Work On Centralizing
Grant Process

A Project Delta team of research administrators and faculty members will look at how departments and offices identify, apply for and administer grants, with an eventual goal of establishing an Office of Sponsored Projects that will centralize the entire process.

Graduate College of Arts and Sciences Associate Dean Patricia DeLeeuw organized the committee, which will begin work this summer. Its members include Prof. Kevin Bedell (Physics), Director of Research Administration Stephen Erickson, Assistant Controller John Krieg and Prof. Mary Walsh (SOE). A member of the University Development staff also will be appointed.

Several top administrators will work closely with the members, including Vice President for University Relations Mary Lou DeLong, Financial Vice President and Treasurer Peter McKenzie, and Associate Vice President for Research and Graduate School of Arts and Sciences Dean Michael Smyer.

In addition, a group of administrators and faculty members will serve as advisors to the team: Prof. Mary Duffy (SON); William Crowley, fiscal administrator for the Center for the Study of Testing Evaluation and Educational Policy; Prof. Larry McLaughlin (Chemistry); Institute for Scientific Research Director Leo Power; Prof. Kay Schlozman (Political Science); and Prof. Ellen Winner (Psychology).
