Barber, an East Greenwich, RI, resident and founder and co-chairman of Providence Ventures Inc., is a leading cable television investor and director of numerous non-profit organizations.
"Given his extensive knowledge of the University, and his far-reaching involvement in BC as alumnus, parent and trustee, it was quite appropriate that Gregory Barber be chosen to lead Fides," said Vice President for University Relations Mary Lou DeLong. "Fides has long played a key role in building support for the University, and we know that Greg will continue this fine tradition of leadership."

Elected to the Board of Trustees last year, Barber has served on its Development, and Investment and Endowment committees. He is a member of the executive committees of the National Development Board, the President's Circle, the Wall Street Council and Pops on the Heights, and chairs the Athletic Development Advisory Committee.
Barber's son, Gregory Jr., is a junior in the College of Arts and Sciences.
