The Second Helping Program, co-sponsored by the Alumni Association and the Greater Boston Food Bank, collects perishable food from 200 restaurants, hotels and other sources and distributes it to 20 Greater Boston homeless shelters and soup kitchens. It provides over 400,000 meals each year.
Al Quebec, associate director of the Alumni Association, said 93 cents of every dollar raised at the gala will go directly to Second Helping and the event aims to raise at least $100,000.
Tickets to the gala are $100; raffle tickets may be purchased separately for $50. Both are available through the Alumni Office, ext. 2-4700.
