Boston College employees and students donated stuffed animals, toys, games and books for the Easter baskets, which were brought to the hospitals on March 24 by Sociology Department Secretary Maureen Eldredge and Information Technology Specialist Maria Koufos. The children happily sampled soap-bubble blowers, Silly Putty and other items, said Koufos, who serves as SAS co-chairwoman.
The senate put out a call for donations in late February, Koufos said, and contributions kept pouring in during Easter week.
Koufos and SAS co-chairwoman, Buildings and Grounds Administrative Secretary Kathleen Leonard, hailed the generosity of the University community.
"We could not have done it without the Boston College staff and friends who supported this Easter project with their help and ideas," Koufos and Leonard said.
