Sabbaticals, grants available for '96-97

Academic Vice President and Dean of Faculties William B. Neenan, SJ, has announced that applications are being accepted for several faculty support programs for the 1996-1997 academic year.

Twelve 80 percent sabbaticals are available, including five in the College of Arts and Sciences, two in the School of Education and the Carroll School of Management, and one each in the Law School, School of Nursing and the Graduate School of Social Work. Seventeen Faculty Fellowships are also available, including six each in A&S and CSOM, two in Law, and one each in SOE, SON, and GSSW. Forms and information on deadlines are available from department chairpersons in A&S and CSOM and the deans in the other schools.

The deadline for the spring semester $1,000 Research Expense Grants is Nov. 29. Applications for the summer grants are due in mid-May. Fifteen $5,000 Research Incentive Grants will also be awarded. Information on applications and procedures will be sent to each faculty member shortly.

The University Council on Teaching will also be accepting applications for eight $5,000 Teaching and Advising Grants for the summer of 1996. Faculty should receive information regarding deadlines and procedures in early December.
