International Honor Society Gives Excellence Award to S.O.N. Chapter

Sigma Theta Tau International, the honor society of nursing, has named the Alpha Chi Chapter of Boston College winner of the organization's 1995 Chapter Key Award.

The organization presents the award to a chapter for exhibiting overall excellence in holding outstanding chapter activities, inducting qualified individuals, promoting professional and leadership development, recognizing achievements of individuals and groups, and increasing interdisciplinary collaboration.

The Alpha Chi Chapter holds annual conferences and several programs each year to develop leadership skills for its members, according to Alpha Chi board member Asst. Prof. Susan Chase (SON). Currently marking its 25th year, Alpha Chi boasts more than 800 student and alumni members and received the Research Development Award from Sigma Theta Tau earlier this year.

Nursing leaders and scholars from throughout the world voted for the chapter, one of 346 world wide.
