Howard, who had been director of corporate and foundation relations and a major gifts officer at Babson College since 1993, chiefly will be responsible for implementing a complete corporate strategy for Boston College, said Director of Development, Endowment and Capital Programs Stephen Dare.
"We are delighted to welcome Mary Beth to our team," Dare said. "She has a highly impressive track record in the sponsored research field, which has become a critical component of the University's fund-raising efforts."
At Babson, Howard was responsible for soliciting major gifts during the college's current $115 million capital campaign. Previously, she was associate director of corporate and foundation relations at the Harvard School of Public Health.
"I am very pleased to be joining a development office with a national and regional reputation," Howard said. "I feel Boston College has all the pieces in place to meet its objectives for corporate and foundation support."
